Jackson Heights High School is proud to recognize Katie Keithline and Korbin Karns as January’s Seniors of the Month, honoring their dedication, leadership, and involvement in school activities.
Katie Keithline has been an active member of several school organizations, including FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, and Forensics. Her motivation throughout high school has been her mother, who continuously supported and encouraged her.
“When I didn’t have good grades, she didn’t get mad at me—she supported me and helped me do my best,” Keithline shared.
For underclassmen, her advice is to complete required courses early to allow for a more enjoyable senior year. Katie plans to continue her education at Washburn University after graduation.
Korbin Karns has immersed himself in a variety of activities, including Forensics, Cobra Mentors, Esports, Archery, Cross Country, Track and Field, and the school play. He encourages younger students to step out of their comfort zones and explore different opportunities.
“Get involved in whatever interests you, even if you are unsure about it—it doesn’t hurt to try,” Karns advised.
One of Korbin's most cherished high school memories was his freshman year in sports, where he learned from upperclassmen and developed into a stronger, more honest competitor. After high school, Korbin plans to pursue a career as a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
Jackson Heights congratulates Katie Keithline and Korbin Karns on their well-deserved recognition as January’s Seniors of the Month!
