Jackson Heights High School is proud to announce December’s Seniors of the Month: Erine Medard and Kaden Claycamp. Both of these seniors have demonstrated what it means to be dedicated and involved in the school community.
Senior of the Month and Foreign Exchange Student, Erine Medard is recognized by high school English teacher Sarah Cormier as an incredible human with a “kind spirit.” Cormier acknowledges Erine’s positive efforts in class, noting that her commitment to excellence inspires her peers. Erine Medard is involved in volleyball, FFA (Future Farmers of America), and track and field, allowing us to see her diverse interests and talents.
When asked what advice she has for underclassmen, Erine emphasized the importance of enjoying the high school experience: “School years are over very quickly! Sometimes, we don’t like having big tests or working in the class; but when it’s done, we realize it wasn’t so bad.” After graduation, Erine is planning on studying the following languages: French, Dutch, and English, in Namur. She expresses her gratitude, stating, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so nice with me, this year will always be one of the most beautiful year of my life.”
Kaden Claycamp has also made a significant impact at Jackson Heights, earning praise from Mrs. Cormier for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. This year, Kaden has made a concerted effort to the Cobra community, demonstrating his commitment to school spirit and involvement.
Throughout his high school journey, Kaden has participated in several activities including track and field, high school plays “The Bachelor King” and “Larceny and Old Lace,” musical “The Grand Finale,” football, KAYs, scholars bowl, and honor society. His participation in such a wide variety of activities demonstrates his dedication to both academics and extracurricular activities.
Looking ahead, Kaden plans to study Aerospace Engineering after high school.
Both Erine Medard and Kaden Claycamp exemplify the values of hard work, kindness, and community involvement that Jackson Heights High School strives to instill in its students. Their achievements and aspirations serve as an inspiration to their peers and the entire school community. Congratulations to Erine and Kaden on this well-deserved recognition as December Seniors of the Month!
