The time has come for the much-anticipated high school basketball season to tip off, bringing with it the thrill of competition, the roar of the crowd, and the promise of unforgettable moments on the court.

Whether you’re a player, coach, parent, or fan, there’s an electric energy that fills the air as teams prepare to embark on their journey toward glory. The 2024-2025 basketball season begins Tuesday, December 3 at Nemaha Central at 4:30 for the Jamboree.

When asked about the girls basketball team, Coach Massey says “Our group has a lot of potential, and I am hoping we can keep improving to reach our goals. We have a very tough schedule before Christmas, but it will make us better for league play. We return several seasoned players, who have seen the varsity court, and I am excited to see some of our young ones step up into bigger roles. We have an exciting future, and I am looking forward to getting our season started.”

For many players, the start of the season is a chance to refine skills and forge new bonds with teammates. While coaches are busy implementing strategies and fostering a sense of teamwork that will be crucial as the season progresses, each practice brings an opportunity to push limits and to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead.

Of the boys basketball team, Coach Plattner says, “I’m excited for the season to begin; we have a really hard working group of guys. They should be a really great group to watch.”

As we begin the basketball season, remember the passion, dedication, and love for the game that unites us all. Whether you’re a player, coach, or fan, this is your opportunity to shine.
