Jackson Heights High School is proud to honor August Seniors of the Month, Ava Rash and Kade Holliday. Ava and Kade both exemplify the best of what it means to be a Cobra.
When JHHS Principal Derek Smith said Ava Rash “is in a lot of extracurriculars, almost like she has her hand in a million cookie jars,” he wasn’t exaggerating. If you have ever attended a Cobra sporting event, or other school function, you have likely seen Ava in action. Her friendly demeanor and Cobra spirit are truly inspiring. In addition to spreading school pride, Ava participates in volleyball, cheerleading, softball, STUCO, NHS, FFA, JCYC, FCA, FCCLA, and FBLA. Outside of school, she has been involved with Studio 1 Dance Center in Holton, since the age of three, and has participated in competitive dancing for ten years. After high school, Ava plans to attend Kansas State University with an undecided major. Ava had this piece of advice for underclassmen, “Your time in high school goes fast, so enjoy every moment while it lasts.”
Kade Holliday, who Principal Smith states is “an awesome student who always has a positive energy throughout the school,” has spent his high school years fully immersed in a variety of extracurricular sports and clubs, with participation in football, basketball, track, baseball, NHS, FCA, and FFA. Through his involvement in these activities, Kade has positively impacted the JHHS community. His positive attitude, strong leadership skills, and commitment to excellence position Kade as an exemplary role model for his peers. Outside of school, Kade enjoys reading, mowing, and spending time with his family. After high school, Kade plans to enter the workforce. When asked what has motivated or encouraged him to get through high school, Kade stated, “my parents always pushing me to achieve greater accomplishments and to take pride in my everyday tasks.”
Congratulations Kade and Ava on being named Jackson Heights High School’s August Seniors of the Month.
